Erasmus+ Program

What is the Erasmus + Program?

Erasmus+ is a European program in the field of education, training, youth and sport for 2014 to 2020. 

It is a unique program that works to improve the job perspectives and personal development of students as well as help our education systems, training and youth to provide people with skills that today´s labor market and society.

In Spain, there are two organizations assigned as national agencies to organize the Erasmus + program: el Servicio Español para la internacionalización de la Educación (SEPIE), for education and training, and the Agencia Nacional Española (ANE), integrated to the Instituto de la Juventud (INJUVE) for youth. The actions of Erasmus + Sport are organized by the European Commission by its executive agency in the field of Education, Audiovisual and Culture (EACEA) 

What are its objectives?

  • The Erasmus+ program is focused on learning in an international environment to improve the education and motivation of students. 
  • Promote synergies, cooperation and mutual enrichment in learning. 
  • Increase understanding of other cultures and countries and develop a sense of European identity and citizenship

The Istituto Europeo di Design has Erasmus agreements with various institutions for Incoming and Outgoing students, Professors and Staff.

Erasmus + for Students: Studies

What do I need?

  • Be enrolled during the mobility period.
  • EU students must have the European Health Card before their mobility.
  • Non-EU students must have a private health insurance before their mobility. 
  • Transcript of records for 1st year. Minimum grade point average of 7.5.
  • Have passed all of your classes of 1º and 2º year.
  • Show a language certificate for English of B1 (European language passport). You should know the language of the destination country. 

DOCUMENTS TO PRESENT:

  • Application Form (up to 3 universities).
  • Curriculum Vitae (Europass Model).
  • Motivation Letter in the language of the destination country.
  • Transcript of record for 1st year. (You should ask for it via email to the Departamento de Coordinación Académica – coordinacionacademica@madrid.ied.es for IED Madrid or s.academica@bcn.ied.es for IED Barcelona- at least 15 days in advance).
  • Portfolio.
  • Language Certificate of English B1 (European language passport).
  • Copy of DNI/passport/valid NIE.

SELECCIÓN CRITERIA

  • Portfolio (30%)
  • Grade Point Average (30%)
  • Motivation Letter (20%)
  • Interview (20%)

The mobility is during the 1st semester of 3rd year for Titulaciones Superiores. They can be extended to a year according to the policy of the destination institution.

Erasmus + for Students: Internships

REQUIREMENTS

  • To be enrolled when apply for the scholarship
  • To have passed all courses of 3rd year.
  • To have a signed Learning Agreement with the receiving institution or company 
  • Internships must be for a minimum of 60 days and have a maximum of 90 days of financing. 
  • To have European nationality, nationality of another country that participates in the Erasmus + Program or a valid TIE. 
  • To have medical insurance (European Health Card or Private Insurance)

HOW TO APPLY FOR ERASMUS INTERNSHIP? 

All of the documentation should be sent before the deadline (Feb 1st, 2019), via e-mail (max. 5Mb), or WeTransfer to:  m.mackenty@madrid.ied.es for Madrid and p.alcaraz@bcn.ied.es fpr Barcelona.

  • Application form (MADRID, BARCELONA)
  • Learning Agreement (MADRID, BARCELONA) signed by the receiving institution and student

  • Language Certificate B1 (Pasaporte Europeo de Lengua)* 

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Proposed plan in Learning Agreement (MAD) OR Application Form (BCN) (50%)
  • Grade Point Average (50%)
  • *Priority will be given to those who haven´t received an Erasmus scholarship before 
  • *In the case of a tie, the highest GPA will be awarded the scholarship

Erasmus + for Training (Staff and Professors)

Erasmus is not only for students. With the Erasmus scholarships for training, we encourage staff and teaching exchange with our partner institutions. It is a great opportunity to share best practices and create working relationships between us. 

For the 2018/2019 call, there are 2 scholarships for Staff and 5 scholarships for Professors between IED Madrid & IED Barcelona.
