Scholarships IED Design Talent

IED Madrid announces the 2nd Competition of the IED Design Talent Scholarships with the aim of giving young people who show a special creative talent and a clear potential for the design studies offered by IED Madrid the opportunity to access the qualifications for which the scholarships are awarded.

The IED Design Talent scholarships consist of attractive financial assistance in which IED Madrid pays a large part of the candidates’ enrolment fees so as to allow young people with talent to achieve their training objectives in the following training programs: 

A panel of experts in each area will be responsible for assessing the works based on their originality, quality and presentation. A recognition of the talent of young people by granting two scholarships for each degree:

  1. First winner: 70% of the course fee (not applicable to the place reservation)
  2. Second winner: 50% of the course fee (not applicable to the place reservation).

Terms and conditions

  1. Participants. The competition is open to interested parties of any nationality over the age of 17, with the exception of legal entities, who wish to access the first year of the qualifications with the option of a scholarship from IED Madrid. Each applicant may only apply for a scholarship for one qualification and will be disqualified if he/she applies for more than one.
  2. Works. The submitted works must be original and unpublished. They cannot be the winners in previous scholarship competitions or awards and they must be created specifically for participation in the IED Madrid “Design Talent” scholarships.
  3. Submission. The works must be submitted in digital format by e-mail, sending all the documentation to the following address admission@madrid.ied.es.
  4. Dates. The deadline for submitting the works in order to be eligible for the scholarships is 11:59 PM (GMT+1, Spain time) on 8 July 2019
  5. Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these rules.
  6. The awarding of the scholarships is discretionary, on the basis of the documentation received and the candidate’s potential for development. The panel will be made up of professionals from IED Madrid. Pre-selected applicants may be contacted for a short personal interview, by telephone or Skype.
  7. The prize is personal and non-transferable and the student winning a scholarship must take the course he or she is applying for.
  8. The scholarship cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash and may not be applied to other courses and sessions and cannot be combined with other promotions of IED Madrid.
  9. In order to benefit from the scholarship, it is necessary to register and pay the enrolment fee within 10 days following the announcement of the winners. The amount of the enrolment fee must be paid in order to formalise the registration.
  10. Regulations. Know and comply with the rules contained in the general regulation of IED Madrid and accept and sign the specific regulation for winners of the scholarships within two weeks following notification of the awarding of the prize.
  11. Study the entire course at IED Madrid, with the scholarship lost in the event of a transfer to another centre.
  12. Mandatory minimum attendance at classes of 85%.
  13. The winners of the scholarships must actively participate in all the special and multidisciplinary projects proposed by the school: presentation events, tutored competitions and workshops.
  14. Cancellation of the course as a result of the minimum number of students not being reached will lead to loss of the scholarship.
  15. Failure to take the course in the September 2019 academic year will lead to loss of the scholarship.
  16. Failure to comply with any of the obligations described herein will lead to loss of the scholarship.
  17. Scholarship holders agree to their personal data (first and last names) appearing in the Newspoint newsletter and other IED promotional materials.
  18. Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these rules.
